Runners Challenge
Welcome to the 2nd Annual “Open to the Public” Trail Runners’ event held in our beautiful San Gabriel Mountains of Altadena. This course will challenge both the Seasoned Trail Runners as well as those Weekend Warriors. What follows is a general overview of the “Altadena NAKED CROW Trail Runners’ Challenge”.

District Ranger Mike McIntyre was out in the front country yesterday (Millard area) and determined that he can not entertain any kind of events on the Los Angeles River Ranger District for some time to come. To hazardous and dangerous as the rocks are falling, slides occurring. It looks so bad out there..................................Totally moonscape...............
When is the Event?
The Challenge is Sunday October 4, 2009. (CANCELLED)Activities will start promptly at 6am and continue as follows;
- Sign-In & Pickup Race number -- 6am – 7:45am
- Challenge STARTS -- 8am
- Vendor Booths -- 8am – 3pm
- Pancake Breakfast -- 7am – 11am
- BBQ Lunch -- 11am – 3pm
- Beer Garden Opens -- 10am – 3pm
- Awards Ceremony -- 10:30am
- FREE Concert in the Park -- 10 – 3pm
- Pickup Goodie Bag & T-shirt End of Race
Where is Event located?
We have picked Loma Alta Park in Altadena for our “Event Central”. This will be where you will register, find sponsor booths, pancake breakfast, BBQ, cold beer, and the FREE “Extravaganza”,

Are there Separate Classes? Which Class should I participate in?

The “OPEN” general class (ages 12yrs and above) is for those runners wishing to test their skills against others in specific age and gender categories.
The “PROFESSIONAL” class has been eliminated (8-13-09).
Who wins Prizes? What types of Prizes are there?

The TOP 3 female & male finishers in each of the “OPEN” general class will win a custom embroidered Naked Crow baseball cap.
The TOP female & male finisher with the fastest time will win $100 and the distinction of being crowned King & Queen of the Mountain.
How much are entry fees? Is there a limit on each Class?
- OPEN general class $29
- Limited to the first 140 applicants

There are NO on course location(s) available to view this Challenge, except at the START and the FINISH line.

This event will challenge both ELITE Mountain Bike riders as well as those Weekend Warriors. What follows is a general overview of the “Altadena NAKED CROW Mountain Bike Challenge”.
When is the Event?
The Challenge is Sunday July 26, 2009. Activities will start promptly at 6am and continue as follows;
- Sign-In & Pickup Race number -- 6am – 7:45am

- The “OPEN” general class (ages 12yrs and above) is for those riders wishing to test their skills against others in specific age and gender categories.
- The “ELITE” class is for those True Competitors who believe they have the Skills, backed by large lungs and powerful legs to carry them to be crowned “Queen or King” of the mountain.
Who wins Prizes? What types of Prizes are there?
- The TOP 3 female & male finishers in each of the “OPEN” general class will win a custom embroidered Naked Crow baseball cap.
- The TOP 3 female & male finishers in the “ELITE” class* will win cash (1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50) and a custom embroidered Naked Crow baseball cap noting “King or Queen” of the Mountain for 1st Place.
- *ELITE Class requires a minimum of 4 registered in each (male &/or female) class. If less then required, class will be moved into the OPEN general class.

- Limited to the first 5 female and 5 male applicants.
